Violces or African Violets that are planted may not necessarily flower as desired. That's why some maintenance is needed

Actually it depends on how to care for and give the desire of the plant itself. For more details, please read the explanation below:

Humidity and air temperature

Please note that the violces flower will not bloom if the humidity is low. It takes 50% humidity for the flowers to be provoked to bloom. Meanwhile, the preferred temperature or temperature for violces is 55-65 degrees.

To increase the humidity of plants, it is better to use pots made of clay. Clay will easily absorb water content and then release it through soil moisture through the evaporation process. In addition, increasing the humidity of the air can also be done by using gravel. The trick, the pot is placed on a layer of a saucer or tray filled with pebbles, so when the flowers are watered from above, the water will fall onto the pebbles, and produce moist air from the evaporation process that occurs.

Watering and fertilizing

So that violces can flower, it takes the right method or watering technique. Watering can be done in two ways, watering from above and from below. Watering from the bottom is fairly easy because it only prepares a layer container such as a plate or tray containing 1 inch of water. The pot is placed in the container and allowed to absorb water for 30 minutes. This is enough to keep the soil moist.
Fertilization is done properly using compost or NPK once a week. Usually sown in the ground or dissolved in water.

Bathe the leaves once a week

So that the leaves are protected from dust and pests, such as aphids and red spiders, the leaves need to be bathed in warm water. After that, the plant will be exposed to sunlight until the leaves dry again (back to normal). Keep in mind that leaf spot will develop when the water temperature is cooler than the air temperature, so to avoid that condition, place the plant under twinkling lights even when the leaves are dry. Healthy leaves will release gases that stimulate flower growth.

Dusty leaves should be cleaned, and bathed in warm water.

Get rid of Pests
As they grow, nutrient thieves such as nuisance plants will grow around violces plants. If left unchecked, the violces growth will be disrupted. And produce violces plants that will not flower. One way to get rid of these plants is to break the plant into new plants again.

Violces flowers love the sun
Violces flowers do not like direct sunlight. This flower prefers sunlight in a shady place like the edge of a glass window in the house.

Make a blooming violces plant

When it has grown thick, then large plants can be separated and planted in larger pots. And to reproduce, it can be done by sticking the stems of the leaves into the ground. The soil used is wet sandy soil. To provide sufficient air humidity, it can be wrapped in clear plastic.

The baby leaves that emerge must be separated from the parent leaves. This is so that the new leaves that are born are not short of breath.

After 2 to 3 months have passed, then small leaves will begin to appear. Then separate the small leaves from the parent leaf. Plant individually in another pot 2-3 inches deep in the soil. When it is 6 to 9 months old, the violces will flower and bloom together.

You can directly display it in the room of your house. For more details, also learn how to grow violces indoors which has been described in the previous article. Can be combined with beautiful pot decorations to make it look more attractive. To keep it blooming, then do the treatment and care described above.
