- Seed selection
For
planting durian montong, it is recommended to use only the seeds,
because planting using seeds tends to fail and requires certain
techniques that are usually only mastered by durian farmers.
The durian seeds used are superior montong durian seeds. Superior seeds are healthy and fresh seeds. It can be seen from its good shape, hard stems, also many and fresh leaves. If the leaves look wilted or only slightly shriveled, then the roots may not be in good condition.
- Land supply
The land used should be loosened first by hoeing it back and forth so that the natural nutrients in the soil, needed by plants, can come out. To get better soil quality, you can add natural fertilizer, namely manure.
- Planting
The planting process begins by making holes in the land with a size of 50 cm. With a size like this, the roots can grow to a large size as well as strong, and free to breathe. For planting, the seeds are not directly inserted into the hole. Leave the hole in advance for 2 weeks. Then give manure also Dolomite. After 10 days later, the seeds can be planted.
Slowly insert the seed into the hole and cover it again with soil around it. Provide companion plants that are larger than the size of the seeds planted. It aims to provide security and protect the seeds from strong winds. For durian seed growers, it is advisable to start planting them in the rainy season.
- Care
After planting seedlings, pay attention to their growing period. Provide regular watering and fertilization. When the seedlings have reached 5 meters, prune the shoots. This will stimulate faster growth. Then when it has grown big, eradicate the presence of pests. The branches that are covered in the sun can be trimmed. Because the branch will not produce flowers.

Do the best fruit thinning by leaving a distance of about 30cm from other fruit.
