You may already know that some vegetables can be grown in pots or polybags, one of which is beans. Beans (derived from the Dutch " boontjes ") are a type of legume that can be eaten with seeds, fruit and leaves in the form of vegetables. Like other vegetables, chickpeas are also rich in protein and vitamins. The content of fiber and enzymes it contains is believed to be able to lose weight.

Beans are vines that can reach 2 m in height. Beans grow optimally at a temperature of 20-25 degrees Celsius. However, beans can be tolerant in areas that have an altitude between 400-1000 m (asl). This plant can be planted directly through the seeds without the need for a seeding process first.

Planting steps:

  1. Prepare a good planting medium by mixing the soil with compost, stirring with a small shovel until well mixed.
  2. Put it in a pot or polybag that has been prepared previously, fill it up to 80% of its volume.
  3. Prepare seeds with good quality. Bean seeds can be obtained from the old fruit and then dried in the sun for a few days or can also be obtained at a plant seed shop at a relatively cheap price.

Sprouts will appear about 7-15 days from planting if the planting media used has met the standards. Bean plants will usually begin to bear fruit 45 days after planting.

Bean plant care:

Caring for beans is also quite easy, as well as caring for other legumes. Here's how to take care of it:

  • Do watering regularly every day, morning and evening. After the plants have grown well enough to be watered once a day.
  • Give fertilizer after the plant is about 2 weeks old, put as much as one ball of fertilizer into the planting medium and then flush with enough water so that the fertilizer is evenly mixed.
  • Because chickpeas are vines, stakes are needed to support their growth (usually made of split bamboo).
Plug some bamboo around the plant to support its growth, so that the fruit does not fall to the ground and propagate upwards perfectly.
